Saturday, October 22, Terry Humble will share his personal history and experience with labor unions in the Mining District. The 1950 strike at the Empire Zinc Mine northeast of Silver City grabbed state, national and international attention. Humble experienced the strike as a child, and spent the bulk of his career working at the Chino Mine. Following his comments, audience members will join in a conversation about how labor unions impact local working conditions today. In person at the Silco Theater and online via Zoom and Facebook (links available at silvercitymuseum.org) The Silver City Museum would like to thank event sponsors WILL, Little Toad Creek, AFSCME Council 18, Southwest Word Fiesta, Gila River Festival, and LULAC The Silver City Museum is located at 312 W Broadway, Silver City, NM 88061, online at silvercitymuseum.org, and on Facebook @SilverCityMuseum
