According to the National Center for Charitable Statistics, giving by individuals makes up the vast majority of contributions received by nonprofit organizations. Giving USA 2015 estimates that individual donations totaled more than $258 billion in 2014. This accounts for 72% of all contributions received in 2014. Even so, many a donation may languish ungiven for want of a person to ask for it. Board members and staff of nonprofit organizations often recognize the need to fund their missions yet lack the confidence or ability to make necessary requests. In the “The Art of the Ask” workshop, you will: Have an opportunity to free yourself from fears associated with asking for money Craft -- and practice delivering -- a brief, compelling talk that conveys the unique role of your organization and the need to fund it, and Develop a personal “asking for the money” plan that will propel you into action.Facilitator: Sunny Yates Kellerman is a founding partner in effective environments®.
