Saturday, November 19, Doug Dinwiddie, PhD, will talk about a number of colorful incidents and episodes related to early law and order in "Frontier Justice and the Early Courtrooms of Grant County." Laws and their enforcement were often an afterthought in Grant County's formative days. As the county grew, judges, justices and juries convened to mete out justice in a variety of local matters such as mining claim disputes, cattle range conflicts, standard criminal offenses and the occasional brutal murder. This community conversation will explore such questions as: Is justice being served today? And what challenges face the Grant County judicial system?
